The ACC announced its Academic All-Conference team selections for track & field on Wednesday, with four Tar Heel athletes making the cut–including the national champion of the 400-meter hurdle race, Kenny Selmon.

Joining Selmon in being selected was javelin thrower Jared Martin, jumper Emily Godwin and sprinter McKinley McNeill.

Athletes selected to the Academic All-ACC Team each excel in their respective sports and in the classroom. To be selected, athletes must have a 3.0 grade point average in their most recent semester and throughout the entirety of their college career.

For Martin and McNeill, it’s their first time earning Academic All-ACC honors. It’s Selmon’s second time getting recognized in this way, while Godwin has earned the honor four times in her career.
