Former UNC star Crystal Dunn was named the National Women’s Soccer League Player of the Week on Tuesday by the NWSL Media Association after an impressive showing while playing for the North Carolina Courage.
The 2012 National Player of the Year scored two goals in the Courage’s 4-1 road win over the Seattle Reign FC, helping North Carolina become the first team to reach 10 wins this season.
It’s the eighth time in her career that Dunn has won the NWSL Player of the Week award, extending her all-time record. She currently sits second in the league this season on the scoring charts with a total of six goals.
Dunn and the Courage are scheduled to return to action on June 30 in Orlando against the Orlando Pride.
