A pair of Tar Heel men’s tennis players were honored Monday by earning spots on the Academic All-ACC roster for the sport, a list that includes a total of 34 players overall.

Blaine Boyden, a rising senior from Raleigh, and Benjamin Sigouin–the reigning ACC Freshman of the Year–were the only UNC players to make the cut for the Academic All-ACC team this season.

In order to qualify, players must have a 3.0 grade point average in their most recent semester and over the course of their entire college careers.

Boyden is majoring in business administration. He also earned Third Team All-ACC honors after posting a 23-2 singles record in 2018.

Sigouin joined the team this past January and has yet to declare a major. His impact on the court came by way of posting a 16-4 singles record, despite spending most of his time on Court Two against opponents’ second-best players.
