UNC Children’s Hospital was ranked among the nation’s top children’s hospitals according to the U.S. News & World Report. This is the 10th straight year that UNC Children’s Hospital has been ranked.

Here is what the U.S. News & World Report had to say about the hospital:

North Carolina Children’s Hospital at UNC in Chapel Hill admits roughly 150 children each day, about an average number for a children’s center. The hospital’s nursing excellence is recognized by its Nurse Magnet status. To make the medical environment more comfortable for patients and their families, the hospital has sleeping areas for parents and siblings, and a family resource center with web access. Its parent hospital is the University of North Carolina Hospitals.

UNC Children’s Hospitals is nationally ranked in seven subspecialties, with two in the top 20. The hospital’s offering in diabetes and endocrinology ranks 12th in the nation and best in the Southeastern United States, while the division of pediatric pulmunology ranks 17th and best in the Carolinas.

Other divisions to be ranked include urology (22nd), orthopedics (23rd), cancer (35th), nephrology (36th), and gastroenterology & GI surgery (49th).
