Both Manchester City and Celtic have been giving back to the Chapel Hill community prior to taking the pitch in Kenan Stadium.
The Celtic FC Foundation donated $10,000 to PORCH, a Chapel Hill-based company dedicated to fighting food insecurity.
“We are so grateful for the immense amount of help that they are providing to us,” PORCH vice chair Allanah Hines said, “as we help, ideally, more and more people in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro area to graduate from the federal systems that will allow them to be food secure in the near future.”
Meanwhile, Manchester City paid a visit to UNC Children’s Hospital, bringing the English Premier League trophy with them. Superstar Erling Haaland and club mascot Moonchester were both at the visit.
Before heading to Kenan Stadium, Celtic made time to visit another iconic sporting venue in the area: the Dean Smith Center. The club put up some jumpers and visited with UNC men’s basketball head coach Hubert Davis, presenting him with a signed shirt.
Manchester City and Celtic will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night in Kenan Stadium. For more information on the game, click here. For broadcast information, click here.
