UNC sophomore first baseman Michael Busch and freshman left-hander Caden O’Brien were each selected Tuesday to the Academic All-ACC Baseball Team, the league announced.
Busch and O’Brien are part of the 50-man roster, which takes into account performance on and off the field.
Players must have a 3.0 grade point average in both their most recent semester and over the course of their cumulative collegiate careers.
An economics major, Busch also established himself as the Tar Heels’ top hitter this past season–as he led the team in home runs and RBIs while also finishing second on the team with a .317 batting average.
O’Brien, meanwhile, made a whopping 30 appearances in his debut campaign. The Exercise and Sport Science major ultimately ended the year with a perfect 7-0 record.
