Hosting rival Duke on Sunday in Chapel Hill, the No. 2 ranked UNC men’s tennis team breezed to a 6-1 victory despite missing two regular starters.

Sophomore Rinky Hijikata and senior Josh Peck were sidelined for the second consecutive match, but once again that had no affect on the powerful Tar Heel lineup.

After winning the doubles point to start the match, UNC then received three straight singles victories from Brian Cernoch (6-2, 6-2), William Blumberg (6-3, 6-4) and Benjamin Sigouin (6-3, 7-5) to wrap up the team win.

Logan Zapp (4-6, 7-5, 1-0) and Simon Soendergaard (5-7, 6-4, 6-2) also won their matches for the Tar Heels, who improved to 15-1 this season and 7-1 in ACC play.

With the loss, Duke fell to 9-8 overall and 4-4 inside the conference.
