Following this past Saturday’s 31-28 upset loss at Florida State, the UNC football team fell nine spots to No. 14 in the newest edition of the Associated Press Top 25 released on Sunday.

That game against the Seminoles was the Tar Heels’ first as a top-five team since 1997, which was also a loss to Florida State.

Clemson remained No. 1 after posting the largest blowout against an ACC opponent in conference history, while the rest of the top five consists of: Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia and Ohio State.

Rounding out the top 10 is a group that includes: Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Penn State, Cincinnati and Florida.

The ACC has a total of six teams among the poll, with No. 11 Miami, No. 19 Virginia Tech and No. 23 NC State joining Clemson, Notre Dame and UNC.

This weekend will see the Tar Heels host the Wolfpack in what will be the first game in the rivalry with both teams in the top 25 since 1993.
