A tough road matchup in College Park on Saturday went the wrong way for the 16th-ranked UNC men’s lacrosse team, as the Tar Heels were crushed 16-9 by the No. 4 Maryland Terrapins in a rematch of the 2016 NCAA Championship Game.

UNC (6-3) received a career-high four goals from Timmy Kelly and two from Alex Trippi, but that would be nowhere near enough to help the team avoid the blowout loss.

The Terrapins (8-1) built an 11-3 halftime lead and were never seriously threatened on the way to the easy win.
