Despite leading scorer Chris Gray being mostly held in check Sunday afternoon, the No. 2 UNC men’s lacrosse team still pulled off a 14-9 road victory at No. 16 Richmond.
Gray was held to just one goal and one assist on Sunday after scoring seven points in each of the Tar Heels’ first three wins.
That still wasn’t enough for Richmond to keep UNC from earning its first road victory of the young season, as Brian Cameron scored three times while William Perry and Justin Anderson each added two goals apiece to the winning cause.
The Tar Heels fell behind early in the game, but managed to rally and take a 4-3 lead by the end of the first quarter.
UNC would hold onto that lead the rest of the day and earn the program’s 11th consecutive victory overall, in a streak dating back to last season.
