A 5-2 road victory on Sunday afternoon over No. 14 Virginia gave the top-ranked UNC women’s tennis team a new program record, as it extended the team’s win streak to 28 straight dual matches.

The Tar Heels claimed the doubles point to begin the match, then received three consecutive singles victories from Fiona Crawley (6-1, 6-0), Elizabeth Scotty (6-1, 6-4) and Reilly Tran (6-0, 6-3) to clinch the team win.

Virginia won a pair of singles matches which ended after the dual had already been decided, dropping the Cavaliers to 4-2 this season with the loss.

UNC, meanwhile, improved its season record to 10-0 overall and 1-0 inside the ACC.
