A late goal in the 79th minute by Bruno Lapa on Friday night in Winston-Salem represented the only scoring of the match, as the No. 4 Wake Forest Demon Deacons defeated No. 19 UNC by a score of 1-0.
The Demon Deacons improve to 12-2-0 (5-1 ACC) with the victory, while the Tar Heels fall to 7-4-2 (3-3 ACC).
Both teams played a defensive style, but Wake Forest was clearly the better side–holding UNC without a single shot on goal.
