Led by a 3-under-par 69 in Friday’s first round from sophomore Ryan Gerard, the sixth-ranked UNC men’s golf team currently sits in fourth place as a team at the Georgia Collegiate Invitational.

With Ryan Burnett, Dougie Ergood and Austin Hitt all shooting even par, the Tar Heels are 3-under-par as a team–sitting only behind Pepperdine (-12), Stanford (-5) and Duke (-4) on the leaderboard.

Gerard is tied for seventh on the individual leaderboard, while Burnett, Ergood and Hitt are each in a tie for 22nd.

The second round of the Georgia Collegiate Invitational will be played on Saturday.
