Hosting Louisville on Friday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center, the top-ranked UNC women’s tennis cruised to a 7-0 shutout victory.

The win moves the Tar Heels to 11-0 this season and 2-0 in conference play. It also extends the program record to 29 straight wins total, in a streak that includes all of the shortened 2020 campaign.

After claiming the doubles point against Louisville (5-3, 2-1 ACC), UNC won each of the six singles contests in straight sets.

The first three to finish–clinching the match win for the team–were Makenna Jones (6-0, 6-1), Fiona Crawley (6-1, 6-0) and Elizabeth Scotty (6-4, 6-2).

Up Next:

Saturday’s originally scheduled match against Notre Dame was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Fighting Irish program. Next for the Tar Heels is a match against Miami at home next Saturday.
