Playing its ACC opener on the road Friday afternoon, the top-ranked UNC men’s tennis team rolled to a 4-0 shutout victory over Clemson.

The Tar Heels began the match by winning the doubles point, then received consecutive singles victories from Benjamin Sigouin (6-2, 6-2), Brian Cernoch (6-3, 6-3) and Rinky Hijikata (1-6, 6-2, 6-2) to move to 7-0 overall on the season.

Clemson fell to 5-5 on the season with the loss, including a 1-2 mark against ACC opponents.

The Tar Heels will look to extend their winning streak on Sunday with another road match, this one in Atlanta at Georgia Tech. The scheduled start time is at noon.
