The UNC women’s tennis team earned the No. 2 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament on Tuesday when regional pairings and brackets for the event were announced.

As a result of being one of the nation’s top 16 seeds, the Tar Heels (26-3) will host first and second round matches at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill.

Although it’s the 20th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance for the program–and 15th consecutive year earning a national seed–UNC has yet to win a national title in the sport.

The Tar Heels will look to change that as they begin their run with a first-round match against Morgan State on Friday, May 11. Should the team advance to Saturday after a victory, it will face the winner of Mississippi State and William & Mary.
