Playing in the first game ever at the new on-campus soccer and lacrosse stadium on Saturday morning, the UNC men’s lacrosse team came up short in a 12-10 loss to the visiting Denver Pioneers.

The Tar Heels (3-2) built a 6-4 lead at halftime, but saw it slip away for good in the fourth quarter as they picked up a loss for the second week in a row.

Denver rallied to tie the game at 9-9 heading into the final period, then scored the next three goals to take a lead it would not relinquish.

William Perry led the UNC offensive effort with four goals, while Justin Anderson and Nicky Solomon each tallied two apiece.
