UNC forward Luke Maye was one of 10 finalists selected Thursday for this year’s Senior CLASS Award in men’s basketball.

The award is meant for athletes who excel both on and off the court. Eligibility is contingent upon a student-athlete being classified as an NCAA Division I senior while having notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Finalists were chosen by national media from a list of 30 candidates chosen earlier this season.

Maye is a business administration major who also happens to be coming off a 31-point, 12-rebound performance in UNC’s 113-96 win over NC State this past Tuesday.

For the season, the Huntersville native is averaging 14.9 points and 9.9 rebounds per game for the Tar Heels.

Fan voting will be used to help determine the winner of the Senior CLASS Award, with those who choose to make their voice heard having until March 25 to do so.
