With a record 22 national championships to his name, legendary UNC women’s soccer head coach Anson Dorrance has decided to share some of the secrets to his success by launching a new podcast series called Vision of a Champion.
On this podcast, Dorrance will discuss what it means to be a champion with a number of prestigious guests who have been a part of his illustrious journey.
These guests include former Tar Heel stars and current U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team stars Tobin Heath and Crystal Dunn, as well as England star Lucy Bronze — another former UNC great.
UNC head men’s basketball coach Roy Williams — who has three national titles on his resume — is also slated as one of Dorrance’s guests.
“There are very few positive elements to this COVID-19 pandemic, but this podcast is a big one for me,” Dorrance said in a release. “Because of the pandemic, podcasts became a way of staying connected with the world around you. Hassan Pinto and Creative Allies saw this as an opportunity, and we jumped on this together.
“I can’t tell you how much fun I had rereading ‘Vision of a Champion’ and making it an audiobook with so many of my former players who have went on to be world famous,” he added.
Dorrance has a career record of 871-76-41 in 41 seasons at the helm of the UNC women’s program and has won eight National Coach of the Year awards to go along with his 22 national titles and 28 College Cup appearances.
Vision of a Champion will be available through numerous different platforms.
