UNC senior Janelle Bailey was selected Friday as one of 10 finalists for this year’s Lisa Leslie Award, which is presented annually to the top center in women’s college basketball.
This marks the third consecutive year that Bailey–a Charlotte native–has been a finalist for the award. She is averaging 14.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for the Tar Heels this season.
Bailey ranks third among all active NCAA women’s players with 41 career double-doubles.
The list of 10 finalists will be cut to just five in March, with the winner being announced on April 9.
For the third year in a row, @janelle__bailey is a Top 🔟 candidate for the #LeslieAward! 🏀
