Following a 19-5 beat down over the rival Duke Blue Devils this past weekend, UNC’s Jamie Ortega and Emma Trenchard were recognized as the ACC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the week, respectively.
UNC came into that game with the Blue Devils ranked No. 3 in the nation, while Duke was No. 13.
Ortega had six goals and two assists in a phenomenal offensive performance. On the other end, Trenchard held Duke’s leading scorer this season to just one goal and also recorded her first career assist.
