Monday marked the release of the D1Baseball.com Preseason Top 25, which has UNC ranked No. 7 to begin the upcoming 2019 campaign.
The Tar Heels return a number of key contributors from last year’s team, as they look to make a second consecutive trip to Omaha for the College World Series.
Vanderbilt starts the season as the No. 1 ranked team in the land, followed by No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Texas Tech, No. 4 Louisville and No. 5 UCLA.
The rest of the top 10 consists of: No. 6 Florida, UNC, No. 8 Oregon State, No. 9 Georgia and No. 10 Ole Miss.
Including Louisville and UNC, the ACC has a total of five ranked schools–with No. 13 Florida State, No. 20 Wake Forest and No. 24 Clemson rounding out the mix.
Regular season play begins for the Tar Heels on Friday, Feb. 15 at Boshamer Stadium with the first leg of a three-game series against Xavier.
