UNC junior outside hitter Destiny Cox was selected Wednesday to the Preseason All-ACC Volleyball team, as the Tar Heels were picked by the league’s head coaches to finish seventh in the conference this season.

Cox has been a starter for the Tar Heels in each of her first two seasons on campus, posting 436 kills and 131 digs across the 176 sets she has played in.

Defending league champion Pittsburgh took the top spot in the rankings, followed by No. 2 Louisville, No. 3 Georgia Tech, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 5 Florida State.

Pittsburgh, Louisville and Georgia Tech each led the way with three players apiece named to the All-ACC team.

UNC is scheduled to open the season on Sept. 24 on the road at Virginia Tech, which was ranked dead last out of the 15 ACC teams among the preseason poll.
