UNC’s Aziah Buckner was recognized Tuesday as the ACC Volleyball Freshman of the Week after leading the Tar Heels to back-to-back victories over Virginia this past weekend.

Used as a six-rotation hitter, Buckner tallied 24 kills, 20 digs, eight blocks and two aces in the UNC wins–including her second career double-double on Saturday when she finished with 10 kills and a career-high 13 blocks.

Buckner’s emergence in the UNC lineup this season helped guide the Tar Heels to a 6-2 record for the fall season.

The volleyball season will resume in the spring.
