The ACC released its annual preseason volleyball poll on Friday, with UNC picked to finish sixth in the league after finishing eighth a year ago.

With only three seniors on this season’s team, head coach Joe Sagula will field a young lineup in 2018–as the Tar Heels look to build off last year’s 11-9 record against conference opponents.

Last year’s ACC Co-Champions, Pittsburgh and Louisville, were picked to finish atop the league yet again.

UNC hasn’t lost a home match against an ACC foe since 2015, which is something the Tar Heels will look to take advantage of this year in their quest to continue climbing up the ranks of the conference’s elite teams–despite not having a single player named to the Preseason All-ACC roster.

The Tar Heels will welcome nine new players this year, including three transfers. UNC’s first game is scheduled for Aug. 24 against Wisconsin.
