A popular road near the UNC campus is set to be repaved and reconstructed in the coming days.
The Town of Chapel Hill shared a release Thursday saying a stretch of Country Club Road is expected to be closed to a one-way, one-lane street beginning on Monday, November 1.
The town said as the work is being completed, only one-way westbound traffic will be allowed in the direction of Raleigh Road to Raleigh Street. All other traffic will be detoured to Raleigh Street.
While a short street, County Club Road provides access to the UNC Office of Undergraduate Admissions, as well as the Paul Green Theater and the Forest Theatre. According to the Town of Chapel Hill, pedestrians and bicycle traffic will still be able to use the sidewalks.
Chapel Hill said motorists can expect to see workers on the site from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The reconstruction of the road is expected to last 10 to 14 days, with restriping scheduled for the week of November 8.
