** UPDATE: At 7:00 Monday morning, Chapel Hill Police announced that Daniela Bernal-Calvo had been safely located.**

The Chapel Hill Police Department is searching for a local juvenile reported missing and shared a release late Sunday asking for the public’s help.

Around 11 p.m. on Sunday, police said they sought 16-year-old Daniela Bernal-Calvo. She was last reported as seen around 5:30 p.m. around the 500 block of Umstead Drive — which includes the Bolinwood apartment community. The police department’s alert said Bernal-Calvo is not believed to be in danger.

Chapel Hill Police described the missing 16-year-old as having brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink, UNC crew-neck sweatshirt with jeans and potentially white shoes.

Investigators said anyone who may have information on Bernal-Calvo’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the Chapel Hill Police Department directly during business hours.
