UPDATE: An alert from the Chapel Hill Police Department on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 25 said Summer Havens was safely located.


The Chapel Hill Police Department is turning to the community and asking for assistance in locating a teenager reported missing.

A release from the department Sunday morning said a report has been filed for 15-year-old Summer Havens of Chapel Hill. She was last seen around 5 a.m. on Sunday, September 15 in the area of Willow Drive. Police said Havens is not believed to be in danger.

According to the release, Havens is 5-foot-6 and weighs about 140 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, and police said there is no particular outfit Havens could be identified as wearing.

Anyone who may have information on Havens whereabouts or wellbeing is encouraged to call 911 or contact the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-968-2760 on weekdays.
