The Carrboro Police Department is investigating a homicide reported on Thursday along Cedarwood Lane.

A release from the police department and town government at 4:41 p.m. said Carrboro officers are investigating the incident, which appears to be isolated. Law enforcement does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public, but they encouraged people to avoid the area if possible as the investigation continues.

Cedarwood Lane is located within the Tennis Club Estates neighborhood, which features townhomes not far from North Carolina Highway 54.

No further information is being made publicly available at this time, but the Carrboro alert said updates will be provided “as appropriate.”
