Sydney Davis of Hurdle Mills, N.C. won a $150,000 off of a $3 Powerball ticket Wednesday, the North Carolina Education Lottery announced. Davis bought her lucky Quick Pick ticket from The Country Store on Hurdle Mills Road, which is roughly 13 miles north of Hillsborough. The ticket matched numbers on the game’s four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000 and tripled to $150,000 when the 3X multiplier hit.
Davis collected her winnings at lottery headquarters Friday. After required taxes, Davis’ winnings total $107,626. She said she plans to put them into savings.
