Due to the snowfall around the region, local governments around Orange County announced they will begin on delays Friday morning.

Orange County government said Thursday evening it would be operating on a two-hour delay Friday morning, meaning both administrative offices and early voting sites would open at 11 a.m.

Chatham County government announced further delays and closings due to the lingering weather conditions.

The county said all Chatham County early voting sites will be closed for Friday with the exception of the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center, which will be open in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Board of Elections office will open at 10 a.m.

Chatham County also shared the Chatham Transit services would not be operating on Friday, with other various departments experiencing delays or closings as well.

The Town of Chapel Hill announced its offices and most of its services would be opening at 10 a.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill Transit, which was suspended at 8 p.m. on Thursday, would resume operation again at 9 a.m. The town said parks and recreation facilities, as well as the public library, would also be opening at 10 a.m. One of the few services postponed is yard waste collection, with the town telling residents the normal collection schedule would resume on Monday.

The Town of Hillsborough shared it would be delayed on Friday too, with town offices opening at 11 a.m. It also said garbage and brush collection would be either delayed or canceled depending on the conditions crews encounter on their routes, with any waste not collected slated to be picked up on Monday. Hillsborough also said parks would be closed until crews determine their condition.

The Town of Carrboro told residents it would be opening its offices at 10 a.m. on Friday.

In addition to the local governments, other local services announced they would be opening on a delayed schedule.

The Orange Water and Sewer Authority announced it would opening its administrative offices at 11 a.m. on Friday.
