Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, Orange County Schools, and Chatham County Schools are all closed for all students and staff on Friday.

Local school districts have begun to announce their closings for Thursday, February 20 in anticipation of inclement winter weather.
Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, Orange County Schools, and Chatham County Schools are all closed on Thursday in preparation for expected winter weather. No word has yet been given on the status of schools for Friday, February 21.
All of the school districts listed above will have an optional teacher workday for staff.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Orange and Chatham counties for the coming days.
Rainy weather is expected to turn to snow flurries over the course of Thursday, February 20, according to the department. By Thursday night, snow fall and accumulation may create hazardous travel conditions before clearing up on Friday, February 21 with temperatures in the 40s.
