The Carrboro Music Festival is accepting applications for potential performers for this year’s event. The application, available here, is open through Thursday, June 1.
Musical acts will be selected by the Music Festival Planning Committee and will receive an honorarium of $250. The 2023 festival, the 26th in the event’s history, is scheduled for October 1, with a kickoff show scheduled for September 30. The Town of Carrboro describes the festival as a “free one-day event showcasing Triangle-area performers and their varied musical styles.”
The Carrboro Music Festival was first established in 1998 as an official affiliate of the Fête de la Musique, or “Make Music Day,” which is a worldwide celebration of music.
The event is coordinated by the Carrboro Recreation, Parks & Cultural Resources Department and the Music Festival Planning Committee. It’s sponsored by the town government and the Carrboro Tourism Development Authority. For more information about the festival, click here.
