A man has been arrested after a shooting last month in southern Hillsborough.

Officials said Tuesday that 24-year-old Elijah Rashad Dobson, of Raleigh, was taken into custody by members of the local fugitive task force of the US Marshals Service while he was at a Burlington apartment.

Shots were reportedly fired into an occupied vehicle on South Churton Street on April 16, leaving a victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim remains hospitalized, officials said Tuesday, while recovering from injuries. An infant was also in the victim’s vehicle at the time of the shooting but was unharmed.

Dobson has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharge of a weapon into occupied property inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He is being held in the Orange County Jail under a $1 million secured bond.
