The Hillsborough Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured two people in a residential area early Wednesday morning.

A release from the department said officers responded to reports of shots fired at a party in the area of Riddle Avenue during the early morning hours. Once there, they found two adults with gunshot wounds: a 21-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, who were each transported to a nearby hospital.

According to Wednesday’s release, both victims are listed in stable condition as of 7 a.m.

The incident marked the second shooting during parties around Riddle Avenue in the last month. On June 3, a 17-year-old was hospitalized after being shot during a weekend block party. 18-year-old Cedric Watson Jr. was arrested days later on an assault with a deadly weapon charge.

Hillsborough Police did not share any details about whether they are seeking a suspect or have details on a suspect in Wednesday’s shooting, but the release asked members of the public to share any information they may have about the incident. Those who do are encouraged to contact Investigator Andrew Jones with the department by emailing him or calling him at 919-296-9562. Additionally, crime tips can be shared anonymously through the See it, Say it, Send it, website, app and hotline (919-296-9555).
