Nearly four months after the fatal shooting of a man and the injury of a woman, Hillsborough Police say they have arrested a final suspect believed to have played a role for the attack.

A release from the police department on Friday said a juvenile suspect — who was 17 years old at the time of the shooting — faces charges after being arrested at 2 p.m. on Thursday in Hillsborough. Police charged the person with aiding and abetting first-degree murder, aiding and abetting assault with a deadly weapon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Because of the suspect’s age, North Carolina law prevents the police department from releasing their name or other identifying information.

The arrest marks the fourth teenage suspect facing charges from the September 13 shooting. 20-year-old Cailee Azariah Parker died after being shot in the 200 block of West Orange Street in Hillsborough. Police arrested the first suspect, a 17 year-old, days after the incident and charged them with first degree murder. Another 17-year-old and 19-year-old Coreiaja Woodard of Durham were arrested in October, with the juvenile also facing first degree murder charges.

Police have said an 18-year-old Hillsborough woman was injured as well, but survived the shooting — and authorities will not be sharing her name.

Sgt. Will Felts, who Hillsborough Police identified as the lead investigator into the shooting, shared a statement in Friday’s release saying with the arrest, “all of the offenders from this case are in custody.”

Still, the police department encouraged anyone who may have more information about the September 13 shooting to email Felts or call him at 919-296-9553. Additionally, anonymous crime tips can be reported by calling 919-296-9555, messaging the police department through its Facebook page, or using the See it, Say it, Send it app and website.
