After searching for answers for nearly two months, the Hillsborough Police Department is offering a reward for information about the shooting of a teenager.

A release from the department on Friday said a reward up to $5,000 is available for details that lead to the arrest of the person or people involved in the murder of Nicholas Frank. The 17-year-old died on June 29 after being shot at Bellevue Mill Apartments.

Hillsborough Police said on the day, officers responded to the complex at 206 South Nash Street around 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Frank dead in the small parking lot in front of the Bellevue Mill Apartments’ main entrance.

In an initial release about the homicide investigation, Hillsborough Police said witnesses reported seeing a white sedan leaving the area around the time of the shooting. No mention of the sedan was included in Friday’s updated release. The new message also identified Frank, which had not yet been done since he was a juvenile victim.

The Hillsborough Police Department said its Criminal Investigation Division is investigating Frank’s death. Anyone who may have information is encouraged to contact Hillsborough Investigator Andrew Jones by email or phone at 919-296-9562.
