An investigation is ongoing after Carrboro Police found a deceased person early Monday morning.

Police say officers responded to a call of a suspicious person at 400 Roberson Street just after 7:30 Monday morning. Officers then found the body upon arrival, according to a release.

Authorities say they do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time. Carrboro Police Captain Chris Atack said in an email that police “do not have any signs of foul play at this point.”

The area immediately around the scene is “restricted temporarily,” according to police, but Robertson Street and the adjacent bike lane are open.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family members.
