A second former Carrboro employee has been arrested in connection with an investigation that led to an employee being charged with seven felonies late last month.

Kevin Lamar Wright was arrested on Monday, Carrboro Police documents show. The 45-year-old Hillsborough resident has been charged with one felony count of embezzlement.

Wright’s arrest comes after Christopher Cates was arrested in late October after an investigation alleged he used a town card to purchase four sets of tires for personal use.

Wright’s charge stems from the same investigation, according to Carrboro Police Captain Chris Atack.

The investigation is ongoing.

Wright is no longer employed by the town, officials said, after he served as a street inspector for Carrboro. Wright was released after processing and has a court date scheduled for November 19.
