The Carrboro Police Department arrested a suspect in a statutory sexual offense case on Wednesday.

A release tweeted out by the department announced the arrest of Luis Bonilla-Lucero, 37, after receiving a report of a sexual assault that occurred this June. It charged him with three counts of Statutory Sex Offense Against a Person who is 13, 14 or 15 years old.

The bond set for Bonilla-Lucero was $750,000 and he was confined in the Orange County Jail.
