Burlington Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a homicide.

Police say officers responded to a call of a shooting on Border Street just before 2:30 Tuesday morning. Officers then found 26-year-old Anthony Lewis Capps, of Haw River, lying in the roadway suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Capps was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Police say an investigation determined that an altercation occurred between Capps and 47-year-old Barry Lynn Williams, of Burlington, that resulted with Williams shooting Capps with a handgun.

Williams has been charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to law enforcement.

No motive was given for the altercation.
