There are numerous moments from the Carolina-Duke rivalry. But, the Danny Green dunk over Greg Paulus ranks high in the minds of many Tar Heels.
In the 2008 Carolina-Duke matchup in Cameron Indoor Stadium, Green grabbed a rebound off of a Paulus miss. He started a fast-break as Paulus raced to get back on defense. Green passed to Marcus Ginyard who threw it right back.
That’s when Greg Paulus became a poster.

Danny Green finished that game with 18 points. The Tar Heels scored the final 10 points of the game to claim a 76-68 victory and an ACC regular season championship.
Ross Martin from 247 Sports shares a quote that encapsulated the feelings of Tar Heel fans (and many college basketball fans).
Danny Green was a junior in that game. He returned for his senior year and won a National Championship. In 2014, he won an NBA Championship as a member of the San Antonio Spurs.
He became the third Tar Heel to win an NCAA Championship and an NBA Championship as a player.
The other two were college teammates, Michael Jordan and James Worthy.
Paulus was also a junior in that game. He finished his college basketball career at Duke the following year. Then, he transferred to Syracuse to play quarterback for their football team. He is now an assistant basketball coach at Ohio State University.
