Burlington Police are investigating after a suspect fired a shotgun into a residence.

Police say officers responded to a call at 820 Central Avenue in reference to a disturbance just after midnight on Sunday morning. Officers found two roommates had been arguing and one of the occupants closed the door and locked the other outside, according to authorities.

Official say 37-year-old Jason Dunn then fired a shotgun at the locking mechanism causing damage to the door. Officers then seized four firearms and assorted ammunition while executing a search warrant, according to a release.

Police say no injuries were reported.

Dunn is being held at the Alamance County Jail under a $25,000 bond after being charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling.
