Carrboro Police are investigating 48 vehicle break-ins, multiple larcenies from vehicles and three stolen vehicles that all reportedly occurred during the overnight hours Thursday into Friday.

Authorities said there is “no evidence that force was used to enter vehicles and it appears that most of the vehicles involved were left unlocked.”

The three vehicles that were stolen were left unlocked with keys in the vehicle, according to law enforcement.

One of the stolen vehicles has been recovered.

Carrboro Police are asking anyone with information regarding any of the break-ins to call Crime Stoppers at (919) 942-7515 or Carrboro Police at (919) 918-7397.

Police are reminding residents to remove valuables from vehicles, lock vehicles and never leave keys in an unlocked vehicle. If you see any suspicious activity, you are encouraged to call 911.
