A Hillsborough man and a juvenile are both in secure custody in connection to the fatal shooting of a teenager in the town in June.

The Hillsborough Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation arrested Alexander Capell Johnson, 22, Friday morning in Burlington. Johnson was then taken to Orange County Jail and charged with first-degree murder. He was denied bond.

The juvenile has been in custody since August 31 and is facing three charges related to the incident.

The charges are for the murder of Nicholas Frank, 17, of Hillsborough on June 29. Frank was shot and killed in the parking lot in front of Bellevue Mill Apartments at 206 South Nash Street.

The investigation of Frank’s murder is still ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the case is urged to contact Hillsborough Investigator Andrew Jones at 919-296-9562. Anonymous crime tips can be reported by calling 919-296-9555 or by going to the See It, Say It, Send It website.
