The popular Charlotte-based brewery NoDa will be opening will be opening its first Triangle location next month. The brewery put out a release Thursday announcing it would be taking over the space formerly occupied by Old East Tavern on Environ Way in Chapel Hill. The grand opening is scheduled for September 16.
Old East Tavern, formerly known as Bottle Rev, originally opened at 1118 Environ Way in 2021. Bottle Rev, which had been at a different location in the same shopping center, had been serving NoDa beer since 2017. The owners of Old East Tavern, Julie Paddison and Lew Hendricks, are now working with NoDa to once again rebrand the 1118 Environ Way space. The location will now be known as NoDa Brewing Company Tapas.
“We are honored that our favorite brewery is trusting us to open a NoDa Brewing taproom in Chapel Hill,” said Hendricks. “The NoDa Brewing brand and culture pairs perfectly with our values and community involvement. We also can’t wait to begin pairing their delicious beer with our tapas menu.”
The brewery will offer small plates and a full-service bar. According to NoDa’s release, some tapas will feature clams, Cornish Game Hen and smoked prawns. Cans and wine bottles will be available for take-out.
