Carrboro Mayor Barbara Foushee joins 97.9 The Hill’s Brighton McConnell over the phone on Friday, July 12. After having last week off, Foushee discusses the town hosting its eleventh annual reading of Frederick Douglass’ essay “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” and why it continues to gain traction within and beyond the community. Plus, work recently finished on some new artwork around crosswalks on Roberson Street near the Libba Cotten Bikepath. Foushee discusses how the project came together and how it serves a purpose beyond beautification.
