A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Carrboro, according to police.

Police say 28-year-old Ma Concepcion Santos, of Durham, has been charged with failure to yield causing serious bodily injury. The collision occurred on North Greensboro Street just south of Hillsborough Road.

Police did not say when the pedestrian was struck.

Authorities say the pedestrian was taken to UNC Hospitals for treatment.

Details surrounding Santos’ release conditions are not yet available.

This is the second time a driver has been cited after striking a pedestrian in Carrboro in the last week.
