UNC senior defender Alex Comsia was named Wednesday as the ACC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year following a season in which he has helped guide the Tar Heels to a 13-2-1 record so far.
With Comsia serving as the anchor defensively, UNC has posted 10 shutouts in its 16 games this season and has allowed just 0.361 goals per game–a mark that leads the entire nation.
Head coach Carlos Somoano has used Comsia for a grand total of 1,474 minutes in 2018, good enough for third third among all Tar Heel players.
UNC is currently preparing for Wednesday’s ACC Tournament Semifinal match against Duke–which is set to begin at 7 p.m. from the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.
