Orange High School dismissed all students at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday due to a water outage.
Orange County Schools spokesperson Seth Stephens said that a contractor struck a water line at the high school, which caused the outage.
All afternoon activities at the school have been canceled.
Orange High is the only school affected by the outage.
Officials said crews are working to repair the damage and hope to have it fixed in time for school Thursday.
Chapel Hill – Carrboro City Schools was forced to close on Monday due to a significant water line break in the southern portion of Orange County.
